  • We are very excited to update our total for Change 4 Change!  The word about our mission to build a library in Ghana has been spreading, and we have had many other schools jump on board!

Our current amount is just over $4,600!

Wow! Please keep encouraging your students to bring in any loose change and/or dollars so we can continue this amazing mission to build a library in Ghana! If anyone asks to make a check, please make it payable to Southbury Elementary. We will continue to collect until Friday, December 18th!

Let's help reach our goal of $15,000!

  • Southbury 5th Grade Civil War Day

Civil War Day is an opportunity to bring various aspects of this time in our history to life for our students. The fifth graders were able to visit with and learn about the lives of an infantry soldier, a Civil War photographer, a war surgeon, a female spy for the Union army, and President and Mrs. Lincoln. This in-house field trip is both a valuable and memorable part of our students' fifth grade experience!
