Mrs. S. Leigh Apple
I attended Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tenn., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with English and Sociology minors.In my career as a teacher, I have taught physical education, health, journalism, band, music, choir, social studies, geography, history, science,writing, reading, and math to students from 18 months to 18 years of age, in public and private schools in Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois.
I received my Master of Arts degree in teaching from Aurora University in 2004. In 2019, I received a Master of Arts degree in Gifted Education from Northeastern Illinois. I currently have a master teacher certificate from the state of Illinois a National Board Certification renewal in 2019. I have been in District 308 since 2002, where I began as a teaching assistant at The Wheatlands Elementary School. In 2005, I began teaching fifth grade at Wolf’s Crossing Elementary until 2013, when I moved to Bednarcik. In addition to teaching Social Studies at Bednarcik, I am also on the marching band staff at Oswego High School.
I have been married for over 30 years, have 3 grown children, one son-in-law, and 2 granddogs.
