Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Tim Harris

I’ve been a Southbury Shark since the fall 2013 after spending my first 9 years in the district at Lakewood Creek Elementary.  I have taught both fourth and fifth grade in District 308 and I’m currently a fifth grade teacher.  While working at both schools, I have been involved with running the Character Counts program and Safety Patrols. I have also used my love for sports to host before and after school sports.  When I’m not at Southbury, I am coaching at Oswego High School.  I coached Girls Basketball for 8 years, but after the birth of my son, moved on to Baseball, which I’ve been coaching since the Spring of 2014.

Why I am a teacher?  My hero has always been my fifth grade teacher, Mr. Alan Boelter and he inspired me to follow in his footsteps!  On my way to becoming a teacher, I attended and received my Bachelor’s Degree from Elmhurst College and then received my Masters in Education at Aurora University.
