Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Adam Glynn
I received my bachelor's from Aurora University, Aurora, IL in biology/secondary education in 2009 and began teaching at Oswego High School that fall.
As a high school student, I transferred to OHS in 2002. Quickly after, I discovered from my own student classroom experiences that teaching was about building connections with students and helping them develop skills to reach their goals.
In my classroom, student engagement happens through constructing and using scientific models to describe, explain, and predict. As the teacher, I am equipped with a taxonomy of typical student misconceptions to be addressed as students are induced to articulate, analyze and justify their thoughts/biases. Using "Socratic" questioning and remarks, students are guided through student inquiry and discussion to create long-lasting learning and understanding.
