Welcome to Kindergarten!
I am so excited for the new school year and proud to be part of Wolf’s Crossing Elementary School.
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, I taught second grade for three years in DeKalb. I then chose to stay home and raise my family. I became involved in the parent teacher organization (PTO) for nine years, with three of those years as PTO president. I also substituted at many schools in kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms. I then was a teacher’s aide for one year, and for two years I was the RtI specialist for kindergarten through fourth grade. My focus was on helping all students achieve success in reading and comprehension, as well as instilling in them the passion to read.
In SD308, I have taught fourth grade at Old Post Elementary School for three years and second grade at Wolf's Crossing Elemendtary School for six years. I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten again this year. A few years ago, I completed the Educational Technology Master's Program with Concordia University.
I am passionate about developing independent student learners, and I am so thankful to be in this deeply rewarding profession. I anticipate your child will grow and achieve many things this year, mentally, physically, and socially. I am looking forward to working with you and your child to help this happen. Enjoy the year!
