Welcome to 2nd grade! ¡Bienvenidos al Segundo grado!

I am so happy and excited to be your child’s teacher this year!

I attended Lewis University in Romeoville, IL., where I received my bachelor’s degree in early childhood special education with endorsements in ESL and Bilingual education. This will be my first year as a teacher but have been in the education field for over 10 years in public, private, and therapeutic settings.  I was born in Quito, Ecuador, and traveled to the U.S when I was 9 years old. My first language is Spanish and I know firsthand the experience of learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture. I strongly believe in the power of being bilingual as it will open so many doors of opportunity, inclusion, and diversity in our communities. Looking forward to a great school year! We are in this together.

Yo me gradué de la Universidad de Lewis en Romeoville, IL. Obtuve mi licenciatura en educación temprana con certificados en educación especial, inglés como segundo idioma, y educación bilingüe. Este será mi primer año como maestra aunque he estado en el campo de educación por ya más de 10 años en lugares públicos, privados, y terapéuticos. Nací en Quito, Ecuador y viajé a los Estados Unidos cuando tenía 9 años. Mi primera lengua es el español y se de antemano la experiencia de aprender un nuevo idioma y acostumbrarse a una nueva cultura. Yo creo mucho en el poder de ser bilingüe ya que abrirá muchas puertas de oportunidad, inclusión, y diversidad. ¡Anticipo un gran año escolar! Estamos en esto juntos.
