Day 1: Monday, April 4th
Objective: Students will learn about the history of the Industrial Revolution. Students will classify the major industrial regions of the world. Students will investigate the site and situation factors that industries consider when creating a new factory/location.
Activities:
1)Intro to the Industrial Revolution PPT with notes guide
- Today’s four Industrial Hearths
2) Chapter 11.2 Scavenger Hunt PPT with W.S.
- Students will use the questions on the Key Issue 2 to help them fill in the answers
HW: Ch. #11, Key Issue #2 due tomorrow
Day 2: Tuesday, April 5th
Objective: Students will investigate the site and situation factors that industries consider when creating a new factory/location. Students will define bulk-gaining and bulk-reducing industries. Students will analyze the three major industrial location models: Hotelling, Weber, Losch’s.
Activities:
1). Chapter 11.2 Scavenger Hunt PPT with W.S.
- Students will use the questions on the Key Issue 2 to help them fill in the answers

Objective: Students will analyze the 3 major industrial location models: Hotelling, Weber, Losch’s.
Activities:

Objective: Students will investigate the site and situation factors that industries consider when creating a new factory/location.

Objective: Activities: Students will analyze the changing industrial landscape in America. Student
will analyze the site and situation of Japanese automakers in the US.

Day 6: Monday: April 11th
Objective: Students will create a response analyzing the effects of Deindustrialization in America. Students will analyze the effects of modernization on older industrialized towns.
Activities:

Day 7: Tuesday, April 12th
Objective: Students will analyze Christaller’s Central Place Theory.

2) Services Near Loretto, Tennessee Activity Activity

Day 8: Wednesday, April 13th (Google Classroom Day / Testing for Upper Classmen)
Objective: Students will analyze the cultural and economic effects of outsourcing on MDCs (USA) and LDCs (India).
Activities:
- Watch 30 Days: Outsourcing with video guide
- They watch this at home as a Google Classroom Assignment
HW: Finish watching the video / W.S.
Day 9: Thursday, April 14th (SIP Day 3.5 Hr. Day)
Objective: Students will analyze the effects (pollution) of industrialization on the physical landscape of the earth
Activities:
1) Discuss BP Oil Spill PPT

Students will analyze the cultural and economic effects of outsourcing on MDCs (USA) and LDCs (India).
Activities:

- LDC’s vs. MDC’s in regards to services
- Discuss Outsourcing and types of jobs that are outsourced
