Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Krista Wilson

I grew up in Yorkville, where I graduated high school in 2008. After high school, I attended Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Ill., and then transferred to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., where I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. For my student teaching, I was fortunate enough to student teach in Kindergarten at Southbury Elementary School, where I worked with this extraordinary staff. After graduation, I substitute taught in both Yorkville and Oswego school districts before I became a paraprofessional in Yorkville, where I worked with Fifth and Sixth Graders for two years. At the end of the 2014-15 school year, I returned back to Southbury as a long term substitute for a Kindergarten teacher. I was then given the opportunity to interview for a Kindergarten teaching position and was lucky enough to be chosen for the job! My first two years of teaching were amazing and I am so excited for this year ahead!

Teaching is truly what I am meant to do. Working with children and helping them succeed in learning makes me incredibly happy. I am energized about this school year and look forward to all that my students will accomplish!
