Middle Ages
Day 1: Thursday, Aug. 26th, 2020
Objective: Students will be introduced to the various topic of the Middle Ages. Students will be introduced to the beginnings Feudalism and Manorialism. Students will understand the political and economic systems of the Middle Ages.
Activities:
- Go over the questions from the article “Introduction to the Middle Ages”
- Feudalism and Manorialism PPT w Guided Notes

Day 2: Friday, Sept. 27th, 2020
Objective: Students will research the role of the Church in the Middle Ages & how it was a central part in people’s lives.
Activities:
- Students will complete the web quest on the “Role of the Church in the Middle Ages”
HW: Web quest is due Monday before class.
Day 3: Monday, Aug. 30th, 2021
Objective: Students will be introduced to the beginnings Feudalism and Manorialism. Students will understand the political and economic systems of the Middle Ages. Students will understand the importance of the castle.
Activities:

Day 4: Tuesday, Aug. 31st, 2021
Objective: Students will research the role of the Church in the Middle Ages & how it was a central part in people’s lives. Students will learn about the importance of the Knight to the Medieval Society.
Activities:
- Role of the Church / Crusades PPT w/ Guided Notes
- Read as a clase “Knighthood” and students will answer the questions.
HW: Finish the reading and questions.
Day 5: Wednesday, Sept 1st, 2021
Objective: Students will learn about the effects of the crusades of Europe and the Holy Land. Students will learn about town life and guilds
Activities:
- Bellwork: Knighthood / Acts of Chivalry Examples
- Roles of the Church / Crusades PPT / with Guided notes
- Focus on the effects of the crusades
- Town life and Guilds PPT / Notes (If we have time to start)

Day 6: Thursday, Sept. 2nd, 2021
Objective: Students will learn about the effects of the crusades of Europe and the Holy Land. Students will learn about town life and guilds. Students will learn about the Black Plague and see the similarities it has with Covid 19. Compassion will be made with transmission and PPE.

- Read the Article comparing the Bubonic Plague and Covid 19
- Plague PPT w/ Guided Notes
- Watch the video on the Black Plague Doctor
HW: Middle Ages Quiz will be Wednesday.
Day 7: Friday, Sept. 3rd, 2021
Objective: Students will learn about the Black Plague and see the similarities it has with Covid 19. Compassion will be made with transmission and PPE.

- Watch the video on the Black Plague Doctor
- Play the video from Gwen Stefani on the Black Plague
- The remainder of the period, the students can work on their review guides.

Day 9: Thursday, Sept. 9th, 2021
Objective: Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the Middle Ages by taking the quiz.

- Take the Middle Ages Quiz on Google Form
HW: Read the Intro to the Renaissance Reading and answer the 1st 5 Questions.
Day 10: Friday, Sept. 10th, 2021
Objective: Students will learn about the events of 9/11.
Activity:
- Discuss the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
