After beginning his graduate program at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, he was hired as the first LRC director at Fox Chase Elementary School. From there, he migrated to Oswego High School in 2002 and directed the redesign of the LRC. He coaches wrestling and has previously served as head coach for the bass fishing team at Oswego High School. He and his wife have a son and triplets (two girls and a boy). He loves the outdoors, especially rock climbing and camping, and relaxing with a good book.
