Mr. Mike Wayne

Principal

Mike Wayne grew up in south suburban Crete, Ill., and graduated from Crete-Monee High School in 1982. After receiving his teaching degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Wayne joined the faculty at Rich South High School in Richton Park, Ill., where he taught social studies and coached tennis and football.

Upon earning his master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Wayne became dean of students at Niles West High School in Skokie, Ill. He then moved to Downers Grove North High School where he served 10 years as associate principal. He was appointed principal of Oswego High School in July, 2006.

Mr. William Nunamaker

Assistant Principal

William Nunamaker is Assistant Principal for Building and Operations at Oswego High School. He began his educational career in 2003 as an English teacher at Farragut Career Academy in Chicago where he also served as the English Department chair. In 2010, Nunamaker moved to Plainfield East High School as a dean of students.

Nunamaker earned his master’s degree in educational administration from North Central College, Naperville, Ill., and his bachelor’s degree in English education from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago.

Mrs. Tania Sharp

Assistant Principal

Tania Sharp is the Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction.  Ms. Sharp began her educational career in 2003 as an English teacher at Plainfield South High School. In 2008, she opened Plainfield East High School as the English Department Chair and then served as the Humanities Division Chair from 2012 to 2014.

During her time as an English teacher and division chair, Ms. Sharp taught all levels of students from at-risk to advanced placement, assisted in leading the Common Core Curriculum renewal process, and acted as an instructional coach for teachers as well as an academic dean for students at risk of failing.

Ms. Sharp earned her master’s degree in educational administration from Governors State University, in University Park, Ill., and her bachelor’s degree in English education from Illinois State University, Normal.

Assistant Principal / Activities Director
 
Melissa Calvert is the Assistant Principal for Student Services and Activities Director at OHS.  She began her career in education in Plainfield School District 202 as a Spanish teacher in 2009.  In 2011, Calvert joined the OHS family in the World Languages Department as a Spanish teacher until becoming appointed as Dean of Students in 2014.  
 
Mrs. Calvert earned her master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, IL) and studied at Illinois State University (Normal, IL) where she earned a bachelor of science in the biological sciences and bachelor of arts in Spanish education.

Ms. Megan McEwen

Special Education Coordinator

Megan McEwen-Terry is the Special Education Coordinator at Oswego High School.  Mrs. McEwen-Terry began her educational career in 2004 as a Special Education teacher at Noble Street Charter High School in Chicago.  At Noble, she taught English, Algebra and Chemistry. She eventually became the Special Education Department Chair and 11th Grade Team Lead.  In 2008, she left to become a founding leader of a new school.

Mrs. McEwen-Terry worked as Special Education Department Chair and Coordinator at VOISE Academy High School and then Collins Academy High School in Chicago until 2018.  During this time, she worked to help teachers improve outcomes for diverse learners and at risk students.

Mrs. McEwen-Terry earned her master’s degree in educational administration and supervision in 2011 from National Louis University and her Director of Special Education endorsement in 2016.  She received her bachelor’s degree in special education from Illinois State University in 2004.

Mrs. McEwen-Terry is a passionate advocate for all students and families.  She believes that all students must have access to a quality education so that they can reach their highest potential.  She is excited to be a part of the Oswego High School team.

Mr. Darren Howard

Mr. Darren Howard graduated from Weber High School in Chicago in 1983. After spending several years as a regional sales manager for a pharmaceutical  company, he returned to school and switched to a career in education.  He earned his degree in business education from Trinity Christian College.  Mr. Howard was at Fenton High School from 1992-2000.  He was then named Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst where he remained from 2000-2012.  While at IC, he earned his Master of Education and Administration from National Louis University.  Mr. Howard was named the Class 1A/2A Division Athletic Director of the Year in 2009-10.  

In 2012, he was named the Athletic Director at Oswego High School. At the end of the 2015-16 school year, he earned the rank of Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, it is the highest level of certification available to an athletic administrator. In 2016-17 he also took on the role of SD308 Lead Athletic Director.  Mr. Howard is married to Joan, together they have five children and four grandchildren.
