We are excited to announce OHS' sixth One Book, One School title for the 2021-2022 school year!

    Dear Martin by Nic Stone

Justyce McAllister is top of his class and set for a bright future - but none of that matters to the officer who put him in handcuffs.  Despite leaving his neighborhood behind, he cannot escape the scorn of his former peers or the ridicule of his new classmates.  Justyce looks to the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for answers.  He starts a journal to Dr. King to find out if his answers hold up in his 21st Century world.

  • OHS One Book, One School Goal:

In partnership with our school community, we aim to develop engaged readers in order to enhance a love of learning through literacy.

One Book, One School (OBOS) is like a school-wide book club.  With OBOS, anyone and everyone (students, teachers, administrators, staff members, parents, community members) can participate.  Throughout the academic year, we will be offering periodic events and educational opportunities with the OBOS program.  This is a great opportunity to promote student and staff independent reading and critical thinking.

Titles are selected by electronic ballot from our staff and students.  Thank you to those who participate in this selection!
