Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tammy Miller

I am so excited to be your student’s 3rd grade teacher!  This year, even though different, will be full of learning, fun, and getting to know each other.  This is my 20th year with SD308, and my fourth year teaching at Lakewood Creek Elementary School.  I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Elmhurst College, and received my LBSI Endorsement in Special Education from Northern Illinois University.  I have been teaching for the past 30 years, and have taught at both the elementary and junior high levels; including both general education and special education.  Before coming to Lakewood Creek, I taught at an alternative school in SD308 for 16 years.

I currently live in Plainfield with my husband and 2 children.  My son is completing his senior year at Olivet Nazarene University, and my daughter is beginning her first year at Joliet Junior College.  When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, playing my flute, camping, hiking, reading, and going to the movies.

Your students are considered number one and are cared about. Each student is unique. Know that their learning, ideas, and actions will be valued. Our classroom goal is to be respectful, responsible, caring, and accountable young learners!  I can’t wait to see how each student will grow and learn this year!
