Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Sarah Turner

This is my 18th year teaching in School District 308. I started my career in teaching by first attending Illinois State University, in Normal, where I studied elementary education. I received a bachelor’s in education with endorsements in language arts and social sciences. After graduating, I spent one year in the East Aurora School District as a kindergarten aide, third and fourth grade reading aide, and a fifth grade math teacher. In 2004, I joined District 308 and spent one year at Bednarcik Junior High School teaching fifth grade. When Wolf’s Crossing Elementary School opened, I spent the next four years teaching fifth grade before moving to third grade, where I spent eleven years. After moving to third grade, I attended Benedictine University, in Lisle, Ill., where I pursued a master’s degree in reading and literacy. This is my second year as a Reading Specialist and Interventionst at Wolf's Crossing. I am excited for a new school year and can't wait to see the growth of the students. Teaching is my life passion and I’m glad I get to share my passion with your children!
