Older Americans Act Services includes Meals on Wheels, Case Management, Information and Assistance, Family Caregiver Support, Legal Services, and much more. These services are provided by local agencies in each county.

We’ve partnered with Community Christian Church to bring the Alive Center for Teens to Aurora! Our center is Teen-Led Teen-Driven (TLTD). We offer free after-school drop-in hours, tutoring, mentoring, workshops, and teen programs in various practices that support physical and emotional well-being and inspire personal growth and purpose.
Topics include leadership, nutrition, and healthy eating, stress management, community service projects, healing arts through music, art and dance, meditation, creative writing, mindfulness, and more!

Aurora Township offers General Assistance (local welfare) to qualified low income individuals for their basic needs. The Township also provides funding for Senior Services Associates office in Aurora. In addition Aurora Township is a major provider of paratransit and public transportation for seniors and the disabled citizens through the Ride In Kane Program. The Aurora Township Youth and Community Center provides programs for our youth and seniors.

Child and Family Connections 4 (Early Intervention covering Kane and Kendall counties) is a program to identify developmental delays in children 0-3. Eligibility is determined by either auto-eligible medical diagnosis confirmed by physician script or a 30% or greater delay in any area of development (speech/language, physical (gross and fine motor), social-emotional, adaptive, cognitive) as determined by initial evaluations using a standardized assessment tool.
Ongoing therapy services for children who qualify may include developmental, physical, speech, occupational, and behavior therapies. The Early Intervention program is open to all eligible children birth-three years of age regardless of income or insurance status. To refer, please call 630-879-2277.
