• District Partner Program

The old saying “It takes a village” is true when it comes to providing the children of our community with a great education, positive influences, and opportunities to exercise their educational, artistic, and athletic abilities. Our district is made up of 22 schools, serving over 18,000 students and employing approximately 2,600 individuals. Together with our community, the district is proud to receive frequent recognition for being a great place for students.

Beginning this year, we’re offering a new opportunity for area businesses to join with Oswego Community Unit School District 308 as a District Partner. Your support, whether financial or through in-kind donations, helps us with several district-wide recognition programs for students, teachers, employees, and volunteers. District Partners will be proudly promoted through the use of:  signage throughout the district, electronic communications, slides at the Board of Education meetings, a certificate, and a window cling for your business. Students, parents, staff, and families are proud to be part of this district and certainly would appreciate your support!

Sponsorship of specific programs is welcomed, though not required. Our largest programs:  The PRIDE Program, School Kick-Off, and the Food Drive are outlined below. In addition, we also provide prizes for student contests, special events, and staff recognition throughout the year.

The PRIDE Program: School District 308’s PRIDE (Proudly Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence) Recognition Program celebrates the individual contributions of excellence made by teachers, employees, and volunteers. Nominations are made by students, parents, employees, and community members. Winners are chosen by a committee of community volunteers and district employees each month. The winners are surprised by a presentation of their award made by Superintendent Dr. John Sparlin. The Board of Education recognizes the winners at its monthly board meetings and present them with gifts of appreciation provided from our various District Partners. All nominees are recognized by building administrators and given a certificate of recognition. Annual winners are chosen from the monthly winners and awarded as Teacher, Employee, or Volunteer of the Year by the PRIDE Committee and the Board of Education.

PRIDE Program Donation Opportunities: Financial support of the program or donation of in-kind items and gift certificates used as prizes for winners. All District Partners are listed on recognition certificates, are included in the monthly press release and invited to be a part of the photo with winners at the board meeting.  Additional benefits, based on giving level, may include a link from the district website, business links in district flyers, naming rights to award categories, and others.

School Kick-Off: Previously known as a district-wide convocation, this year will be held individually at each school building. The School Kick-Off meetings will cover important information for staff presented by their building leadership teams as well as a welcome message from the Board of Education and the Superintendent. During these important meetings, staff are motivated for the upcoming school year. Raffles will be hosted at each building and an employee gift will be presented to each staff member across the district, sponsored by area District Partner(s).

School Kick-Off Donation Opportunities: Financial contribution to cover the cost of the gift (business logo will be predominantly displayed) or in-kind donations of items or gift certificates to be used as raffle prizes for teachers and staff.

Food Drive: Our largest annual district-wide charity event benefits the Kendall County Community Food Pantry with record-setting donations of food and funding. To help motivate students and the community to join in this huge effort, we offer raffle prizes and various promotional items.

Food Drive Donation Opportunities: Raffle prizes used during the final collection event at the Crosstown Classic football game, prize/food certificates for the winning school with the most food collected.
