Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Nicole Walker

I am very excited to serve as the autism/behavior specialist at Homestead Elementary School.  I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a master’s degree in behavior analysis from the University of North Texas.  I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and have supported children with special needs in clinic, home, and school settings as a BCBA since 2008.  School is the primary learning environment for all children.  I am thrilled to be in this position to help make it a fun and meaningful experience for our students with autism spectrum disorders.

What gets me most excited about being a BCBA is being able to find ways to help children with autism and other disabilities learn to their fullest potential.  I’ve had the opportunity work on projects that have been disseminated in journals such as Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders and serve in clinical leadership positions within several autism treatment programs. I have especially enjoyed my time supporting school districts across different parts of the country and I am so excited to join the STARS team at Homestead.
