Mr. Dan Harrison

Daniel E. Harrison is in his 31st year of teaching and 25th at Thompson Junior High. Under his direction, the Thompson Bands have performed for the Plainfield Invitational Festival, IGSMA Contests, Music in the Parks, High Note Music Festival, Northshore Jazz Festival, ISU Band Contest, IMEC State Convention, The Midwest Clinic (Rehearsal Lab Clinic Ensemble) and The University of Illinois Superstate Concert Band Festival.  

Mr. Harrison received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Music in Conducting from Eastern Illinois University.  While at Eastern, Mr. Harrison studied conducting with Mr. Tom Brawner and Dr. Bruce Moss. Prior to Oswego, Mr. Harrison taught in Olney and West Chicago, IL.  

Mr. Harrison’s interest is in junior high band curriculum and literature, and has presented at Ball State University (Muncie, IN), Oakland University (Rochester Hills, MI), and the ILMEA State Convention.  He has been a guest conductor at Eastern Music Camps, Kentucky Music Educators District 5 Festival, ILMEA District 4 Junior Band Festival, and other local band festivals.
