Mrs. Kathy Lynch
I attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and earned a degree in biology. My first teaching job was at West Aurora High School, where I taught biology and chemistry. After two years at the high school, I came to the conclusion that I would enjoy working with junior high students. I joined the Thompson Junior High School staff in 2003 and have spent the last 11 years teaching health and science to amazing young people. My personality and teaching style have made teaching at the junior high level an extremely rewarding experience.
Starting at the age of 12, I spent all my summers at camps in the north woods of Wisconsin and Maine. Being a leader in the camp environment prepared me to be a more effective leader in the school environment. I have developed this leadership by earning two master’s degrees. The first degree, from George Williams College of Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., is in recreation administration. The second degree, from Aurora University, is in education administration and qualifies me to advance to an administrative position within a school.
My next professional goal is to become a nationally certified teacher.
