• Oswego High School celebrates 

    National Arts in Education Week


  • The United States Congress has designated the 2nd Week of Sept. National Arts in Education Week to promote and showcase the immense role arts education has in producing engaged, successful, and college and career-ready students. 

    Monday thru Friday of this week, the Fine Arts, English Department are sponsoring a series of events.  Guided Study/ Freshman Seminar teachers will bring groups to the Performing Arts Center to enjoy events listed below.  Here’s what you can look forward to:

     

    • Jazz Monday 9/12: Award-winning Jazz Esnambles will perform in the Barnes Performing Arts Center during lunch periods! 

     

    • Show Choir Tuesday 9/13: Award-winning Show Choir will be performing in the Barnes Performing Arts Center during lunch periods!

     

    • Word Wednesday 9/14: Poetry teacher Erin Holtz and Book Guru Michael Leali will lead students in experiencing the joy of words in the Barnes Performing Arts Center.

     

    • Improv Wednesday 9/14: Curricular OHS Theater classes will bring comedy to the 38C Black Box Theater stage during lunch periods.

     

    • Dance Thursday 9/15: Panther Dancers will be performing contemporary dance in the Barnes Performing Arts Center.

     

    • Jazz Friday 9/17: Jazz Occurrence Friday is happening in the Barnes Performing Arts Center to wrap up the week's events!
