Mrs. Melanie Sartain
Special Education Teacher
I attended Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, for a bachelors of science degree in marketing. This led me to a tax-consulting firm where I worked for three years providing educational trainings to corporations. I enjoyed the educational piece of my job and knew that some day I would like to work as a school educator. Shortly after, I went on to receive my certificate in special education from Lewis University, Romeoville, Ill. While at Lewis, I also completed my master’s degree in school guidance counseling. I have worked at Oswego East High School for the past 16 years. The subjects that I have co-taught include English, algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2. I have also taught reading dynamics and resource. I am grateful to be at OEHS working with amazing students and staff!
