Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Art in Theatre, Speech & English Education from Drake University Master of Art in Theatre Directing from Roosevelt University

Mrs. Nicole Chandler

After graduating from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, with my bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Speech and English secondary education, I found my way to Oswego East High School (OEHS) in 2009. While at OEHS, I've taught various classes throughout our English and Fine Arts Departments. Currently, I teach Theatre Foundations, Acting I & II and  Directing I. Additionally, I have the distinct honor to be a part of the AVID Site Team as well as teach the AVID 9 & 10 elective courses.

I have a deep passion and enthusiasm for theatre education which has led to the pursuit of my master's degree in Theatre Directing through Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts. I am the proud director of East Theatre and direct the fall play and spring musical each year, along with sponsoring our chapter of the International Thespian Honor Society.

Teaching for me is not only about giving students the skills to read, write and communicate, but it’s also about giving students access to their voice and the confidence to share it with others. My students inspire me every day to challenge myself, take risks, and enjoy each day to the fullest, and I hope I do the same for them.
