Serving as the principal of Wolfs Crossing elementary school is truly a gift and a tremendous source of pride. As we begin the 22–23 school year and my fourth year as principal, we are set to “Love, Learn, and Launch!” This year’s theme echoes my leadership philosophy in taking care of our staff, students, and community first and foremost.
-
My background in education includes teaching Art at Schaumburg High School, and Ira Jones Middle School in Plainfield District 202. My varied experiences and leadership roles in my 10 years as an administrator-Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, and now principal of Wolf’s Crossing for three years have been both very rewarding and very humbling. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Art Education (K-12) from Elmhurst College in 1999, and my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of St. Francis in 2009.
-
Leading our community in order to provide the best possible education for each of our students is truly my passion! As a life-long learner, I seek out opportunities to grow both as a professional and an individual continuously, and give my very best to the staff and students of Wolf's Crossing each day. -
Yours in partnership,
Ms. Cortnye J. Russell, Principal
