Mrs. Sarah Caffarello

I graduated from St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, MN, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I then moved to Las Vegas to begin my teaching career as a first grade teacher. I taught first grade for five years, and was an elementary math specialist for two years. While in Las Vegas, I earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, with an emphasis in math and science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After seven years in Las Vegas, I moved to Illinois where I worked as a math and science specialist for kindergarten through eighth grade students in Northbrook.  In 2005, I began teaching in District 308 as a fourth grade teacher at Prairie Point Elementary School.  After reading Igniting a Passion for Reading, by Steven Layne, I realized that I love reading just as much as math and science, and hence decided to pursue an endorsement in school librarianship at Illinois State University. I've been working as the learning resource director at Churchill Elementary School since 2013.
