Degrees and Certifications:

B.A. Elementary Education M.S. Education, Instructional Technology

Mrs. Shannon James

In 1995, I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from St. Xavier University, Chicago. Along with that certification, I earned endorsements to teach social studies and language arts at the junior high level. After I earned my degree, I was fortunate enough to stay home with my children for several years. I began my career at Fox Chase Elementary School in fall 2004, teaching computer lab to students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The following school year, I began my position as the learning resource center director. At that time, I went back to school to earn my master’s degree in instructional technology from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, which I completed in 2009. I also became certified as a library information specialist for kindergarten through 12th grade students, and I received endorsements to teach social studies and language arts in a middle school.

I truly enjoy being a part of your child’s learning and growth through the use of literature and technology.
