August, 2022
Dear Grande Park Elementary Families,
On behalf of the staff at Grande Park Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2022-23 school year! Our staff is thrilled and excited to share another year of learning with your children. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our Grande Park family. Our custodial staff worked very hard this summer to make every room and area within the school look shiny and new! Our teachers are preparing their rooms and are very excited to meet their new students.
On August 10th at 4pm, student schedules/teacher assignments for elementary students will be available in the Tyler portal. For any questions regarding schedules/teacher assignments, please contact the school directly after August 10th.
We hope you will join us Monday, August 15th, for our annual Preview/Supply Drop-Off Night. The school will be open from 5:30-7:00pm for students to find their classrooms, tour the building, and drop off school supplies. Our PTA will be sharing information about ways to volunteer and how to become a PTA member. Everyone should enter through door #5 off the playground. Staff members will be located throughout the building to answer any questions you may have. The first day of school for kindergarten through fifth graders is Wednesday, August 17th. Curriculum Night will be Thursday, September 1st, from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
The hours of our school day are now 9:00am to 3:50pm for full-day kindergarten through 5th grade. Our half-day kindergarten students are dismissed at 11:35am. The district will continue the ABCDE schedule rather than the typical Monday through Friday. (Please see link in slide presentation).
Please make sure that you keep your email and phone numbers current in the Tyler Technologies system. That information is used as the main way we communicate quickly to our Grande Park community. Our first edition of our monthly electronic newsletter, News from the Den, is attached to this communication. Communication is truly the key to a strong partnership and connection between home and school. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to another great year!
Sincerely,
Sean Smith, Principal
