I attended the University of Mississippi, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I hold middle school endorsements in language arts, social studies, and gifted education.  Prior to relocating to Illinois and joining the Bednarcik Junior High staff in 2004, I taught for three years in Mississippi.

In 2009, I completed my master’s degree as a reading specialist from the University of St. Francis, and I have recently earned National Board Certification. Some of my other duties include directing the annual talent show and facilitating the sixth grade survival skills classes, which are held each summer.  I am also a member of Bednarcik's AVID site team.
