Mrs. Erin Skaggs

My teaching career began in 2000 at Traughber Junior High, teaching PE and coaching soccer. In 2002, I helped open Bednarcik Junior High, teaching PE, Health, and Technology at various times, as well as coaching track & field and soccer. I have remained at Bednarcik ever since. Go Bulldogs!

My teaching philosophy is that students should have fun while challenging themselves to be their best. I believe that if students have fun they will desire to be physically active down the road. Also, when students challenge themselves and succeed, the pure joy they experience is priceless!

Just a little bit about me: I grew up and went to college in Missouri, then moved to Illinois when I started teaching over 20 years ago. My husband and I have two dogs, Charlie and Bones. We spend a lot of time walking and enjoying the outdoors. I also love to read and am always looking for great book recommendations, so please share if you have one. If you're looking for a good book, some of my favorites include The Book Thief, the Harry Potter Series, and The Fault in Our Stars.
