Mrs. Kimberly Moorman

2021-22 will be my 8th year at Traughber where I teach choir and general music.  I also direct the extra curricular auditioned choir, Panther Choir and the annual Spring Musical.  Before coming to Traughber I spent 10 years at Huntley Middle School, in DeKalb, IL, where I also taught choir, general music, Junior madrigals, and directed the annual spring musical.

I attended Ball State University, in Muncie, Ind., earning bachelor’s degrees in vocal performance and choral education in 2002. I earned my master’s degree in choral education and a performers certificate in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 2007-08. Currently, I’m taking classes through VanderCook College of Music, Chicago, keeping current with technology in music education and many other topics.

In college, I wanted to teach high school, but I have found that I love teaching junior high students. They challenge me everyday, and I wouldn’t want that to change.
