I started my academic career in computer systems.  I realized shortly after, that my real passion was art.  I believe that it is important to help children have an understanding and appreciation for the arts, so I went back to school and earned my education and art degrees from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.

I started my career in School District 308 at Traughber Junior High in the computer labs of the learning resource center.  I was transferred to a technology specialist position working for the whole district.  When the opportunity opened, I transferred to Long Beach Elementary as an art teacher.

In my free time, I enjoy creating art and spending time with my family.
