Welcome to First Grade!

I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year.  I attended Illinois State University, in Normal, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in psychology.  I worked in the business world for a few years before deciding I should have stayed in education.  I then earned my masters degree from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., in Elementary Education and have enjoyed being in the classroom ever since.  Shortly after graduating, I moved to Las Vegas to teach first grade near Nellis Air Force Base, before moving back to Illinois.  I have been in District 308 since 2008, covering maternity leaves in full-day and half-day kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and the Learning Resource Center, subbing, and now have been in full-time first grade since 2010.  I spent five years at Homestead Elementary and now I’m excited for my 3rd year as a Hunt Club Cougar.  I am thrilled to spend this year, growing with your child in first grade.
