Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Julie McElroy

This is my 16th year teaching. My entire teaching career has been with District 308, with the past five years being at Traughber Junior High School. I teach Spanish 1 to eighth grade students. I graduated from Western Illinois University with a double major in Law Enforcement and Spanish. During that time, I also spent several months studying abroad in Spain. Upon graduation, I spent five years working with both adults and children in the court system (probation). It was during this time that I discovered I wanted to continue to work with children, but in a more positive environment. I went back to school and earned my MA in Education from Roosevelt University, and have been teaching Spanish ever since.
