John Petzke previously worked for SD 308 from 2007-2012 in the role as Executive Director of Technology and most recently served as the superintendent of Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3.

Dr. Petzke earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois; Masters in Educational Administration (w/type 75) from North Central College, Naperville, Illinois; Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois; and M.S.Ed. in School Business Management with CSBO from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

Mr. Rob Allison

Director of Operations

Rob Allison was hired in 2015 as the Assistant Director of Operations.  Mr. Allison began his Operations career in 1989 with Indian Prairie School District 204, serving in a variety of labor leadership and management roles, including District Maintenance Manager, Facility Manager for Neuqua Valley High School, District Maintenance lead and Head custodian at both the elementary and middle school levels.

Mr. Allison has received an Associate in Science degree (Pre-Education, emphasis on Psychology) from Waubonsee Community College, has pursued additional college level course work in English Literature, has  successfully completed the Certified Plant Maintenance Manager and Certified Pool Operator courses, is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Illinois Air National Guard, and is a 1980 graduate of Oswego High School.

  • Oversight of the safe, effective and efficient delivery of Operational Support Services to students, staff and the community
  • Oversight of Opertions Department personnel, procedures and policies
  • Chair of the District Safety Committee
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the Operations Department training and safety programs and initiatives
  • Oversight of district annual service agreements
  • Responsible for the management of Capital Improvement projects and initiatives
  • Oversight of the District Environmental Services testing, including, but not limited to Indoor Air Quality testing
  • Oversight of the District Management program

Mr. Michael DeArmond

Director of Transportation

Mike DeArmond was hired in 2019 as the Assistant Director of Transportation. Mr. DeArmond has worked in transportation throughout his career, including being a dispatcher, assistant manager, and general location manager for First Student in Glen Ellyn. He worked his way through college by driving a school bus! 

Mr. DeArmond earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma; a Master’s in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University DeKalb, Illinois. Mike DeArmond’s four children attend District 308 schools and his wife is an EL teacher at The Wheatlands.

  • Oversight of safe, effective and efficient transportation services for district students.
  • Oversight of department employees, policies and procedures. 
  • Oversight of school bus leasing and department purchasing programs.  
  • Processing of the State Reimbursement Claim.
  • Transportation budget.
  • Continuous collaboration with internal and external personnel, including public agencies, parents, transportation regulation agencies and vendors to support exceptional customer service.
  • Development, implementation and the maintenance of safety standards and department procedures in compliance with federal and state laws, district policy and insurance regulations.
