• Course Selection 2023-2024

     

    Hello Oswego East Families!

     

    Course Selection for the 2023-2024 school year will begin November 11, 2022.   

     

    This year, our teachers have the opportunity to explain courses to our students prior to course selection and will be adding their recommendations for students to TYLER. This will occur between November 11-20, 2022. 

     

    Students and guardians will go on Tyler to select their courses for 2023-2024 between November 25 - December 2, 2022. Detailed instructions on how to sign-in to Tyler and access the course requests are listed at the bottom of this page.  As always, counselors will be verifying all course selections during one on one appointments with your student in the months of December and January.

     

    Course requests will be emailed home in early February so parents can review what was selected.  You will have a week to reach out to your student’s counselor if you have questions or concerns about the selections.  All student course requests will be finalized by 2/17.

      

    Naviance

     

    Another important tool to use for course selection is Naviance. This program has several features that may help the student figure out what type of career they are interested in or post-secondary institution they may want to attend. You can navigate to our Naviance page in the left hand panel. There, you will find instructions on how to log-in as well as suggested surveys or questionnaires that may be helpful for the student by grade level. General pathways of study are also available in the careers area on this program- meaning students can find suggested courses they should take if interested in a certain career area or cluster.   • Incoming Freshmen Presentation: Class of 2027

    Class of 2027: Please view the above presentation for a brief introduction to the high school schedule and expectations. Then select the Class of 2027 Course Selection Sheet to select your elective courses and see a 2-year plan worksheet. You will then need to sign-in to Tyler SIS and add your classes to your course request page. Directions are available below in 2 formats- google slides or directions sheet.

    This sheet contains the electives that incoming Freshmen are able to pick for the following school year. 

    9th Grade Course Verification Appointment: Students will add their course requests to TYLER between 11/25-12/2 and then meet with their counselor in December. Counselors will visit the Jr. Highs to confirm selections on:

    Murphy: December 16, 2022

    Plank: December 20, 2022

    Bednarcik: December 21, 2022

  • Class of 2026 Course Selection Sheet

    This sheet contains the electives that Sophomores are able to pick for the following school year. 

    10th Grade Course Verification Appointment: Students will add their course requests to TYLER between 11/25-12/2 and then meet with their counselor on December 5, 6, or 7, during their Freshman Seminar.

  • Class of 2024 and 2025 Course Selection Sheet

    This sheet contains the electives that Juniors and Seniors available to pick for the following school year. 

    11th Grade Course Verification Appointments - After adding their course requests to TYLER between 11/25-12/2, current 10th grade students will have a course verification appointment with their counselor. This will occur on December 9 or 12, during Guided Study. 

     

    12th Grade Course Verification Appointments  - After adding their course requests to TYLER between 11/25-12/2, current 11th grade students will have a course verification appointment with their counselor. This will occur in January.

    This sheet can be used to develop a tentative 4 year plan at the high school. Classes are subject to change or may not be offered due to different circumstances in future years.
