Early Childhood & Kindergarten

Early Childhood & Kindergarten

Children ages 3-5 years are eligible for the Early Childhood program through three different paths: Preschool for All, Special Education, and Tuition Preschool. All programs take place at Brokaw Early Learning Center, Lakewood Creek Elementary School, Wolf's Crossing Elementary School, or Long Beach Elementary School.
Children registering for Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1 of the current year. Half-day and Full-day programs are available. Kindergarten is available at all elementary schools.
 
  • Accepted between March 1 and May 1
  • Due by May 1 of spring before the start of the school year for which you hope to have your student enrolled.
  • No applications will be accepted beyond May 1

Physicals and Immunizations must be submitted on or before September 15 to prevent exclusion from school. (Exclusion applies to physicals and immunization requirements only).
 
If you have a nutrition-related question or a student with special dietary needs, please contact your school nurse or Registered Dietitian. A list of Building Nurses can be found here.

To report a student's absence, please follow the procedures listed under the school's "Attendance Office" page or call the phone number listed below for your student's respective school. When leaving a voicemail, please provide your student's full name, ID number (if available), and reason for absence.
 
Log into PowerSchool to view student courses, grades, and more.

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) District Transportation Requirements state that our district must provide free transportation for pupils residing 1.5 miles or more from any school to which they are assigned for attendance maintained within the district.
