Special Education Coordinator:

Michelle Peat began her teaching career at Bednarcik Junior High as a special educator in 2003 after receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Illinois University in special education.  She taught in the field of special education for 11 years and earned her Master’s Degree from Aurora University in Educational Leadership, which she used to become assistant principal at Bednarcik for two years.  To further her experiences in the field, Michele was the special education department chair at Oswego East High School, and is now looking forward to her return to Bednarcik as the Special Education Coordinator.

The driving force of Michele's leadership is helping all students reach their highest potential.  She believes that this can only be accomplished by involving important members of each student’s life; specifically the parents and educators.   Michele also lives in the Oswego community with her husband Dan and their three children, Tommy, Kylie and JD.
