Mr. John Francis

Principal 

John Francis believes that education is best done in collaboration. Working with the staff and students in support of learning is what drives him daily. He received his undergraduate degree in Education with a minor in Health from the University of Wisconsin in 2004. In 2005 he moved to Oswego to begin his career as a teacher. While teaching 4th and 5th grade, John received his administrative certification from Concordia University. After six years of teaching, he was fortunate enough to help lead three different elementary schools in Oswego before being asked to help lead Bednarcik as an Assistant Principal. . Since the 201502016 school year, John has led Bednarcik as principal and couldn't dream of doing anything different! 

Francis lives in Oswego with his wife, Tiffany, and their two sons, Beckham and Luke. He has a passion for supporting students and helping them grow academically, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Mr. Adam Lester

Assistant Principal

Over his career, Mr. Adam Lester has taught 28 English classes at three different high schools, including two (2) AP Classes and a Dual-Credit Class; 13 years as a high school English classroom teacher; eight (8) years as an English Department Teacher Leader, one (1) being as District Instructional Coach; and two (2) years as a Certified Evaluator in the Danielson Framework for Teacher Evaluations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois; Type 09 Initial Teaching Certificate, Governors State University, University Park, Illinois; Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership-Principal Preparation, Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois. 

Mr. Lester's professional, educational experience began in 2007 at Willowbrook High School, Villa Park, Illinois.  Most recently, he has held the role as an Instructional Coach at Batavia High School (2019-2021) where he served multiple roles for teachers as an Instructional Specialist, Data Coach, and Learning Facilitator. I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the family at Bednarcik Junior High.  I'm looking forward to the opportunity to support the students, staff, and community of Bednarcik while empowering our students to own their learning and follow their passions.”
