Mrs. Whitney Thayer
I am excited to be a member of Fox Chase Elementary this year. I am coming over from The Wheatlands Elementary, where I co-taught and taught small groups of students as the Learning Behavior Specialist. I graduated from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 2008 with my bachelor’s degree as a learning behavior specialist-unlimited, which allows me to work with children age three through 21. Additionally, I am highly qualified by the state in reading and social studies to teach students through the junior high level and in academic areas at the elementary school level.
Since graduating, I taught in the Life Skills Program in School District 308 for the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative for six years. In 2013 I began working for the district, co-teaching fourth and fifth grades.
I knew I wanted to become a teacher after peer tutoring throughout middle school and high school. This year, I hope to make Fox Chase my new home!
