Mrs. Whitney Thayer

I am excited to be a member of the Oswego 308 community and Fox Chase Elementary. I knew I wanted to become a teacher after peer tutoring throughout middle school and high school. I graduated from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 2008 with my bachelor’s degree as a learning behavior specialist-unlimited, which allows me to work with children age three through 21. Additionally, I am highly qualified by the state in reading and social studies to teach students through the junior high level and in academic areas at the elementary school level.

Since graduating in 2008, I taught in the Life Skills Program in School District 308 for the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative. In 2013 I began resource support and co-teaching fourth and fifth grades. In 2018 I began my experience in the Instructional Skills Progam, and have really enjoyed it. I feel that my experience in these 3 levels of elementary instruction help me to gain and utilize skills to best support the student where they are, and to help them to grow academically and as a person.

As an Oswego resident, you might see me out and about with my husband, 2 daughters, and 2 dogs. If you do, please say hi!
