Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lindsay Davini
This is my thirteenth year of teaching at Thompson Junior High School. I attended Illinois State University (ISU), in Normal, where I majored in middle level education. I received my bachelor’s from ISU in 2007 after completing my student teaching here at Thompson. Since then I have been teaching eighth grade language arts or seventh grade honors language arts. While at Thompson, I have also been a track and field coach, and I am currently one of the co-sponsors for the National Junior Honor Society. In 2011, I obtained a master’s degree from National Louis University, in curriculum and instruction, and have continued to take courses since then to further my goal of being a lifelong learner.
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. I attribute this to the fact that my mother has been a kindergarten teacher for the last 37 years, so teaching and teachers have always been an important part of my life. I had many great teachers throughout my career, and I hope to be a teacher whom my students remember long after they leave this school. I hope that I not only prepare my students for high school and beyond, but that I also empower them to know that they can achieve whatever they dream as long as they put their mind to it.
