I am so happy to be teaching students in the Gifted Education program at The Wheatlands and Old Post  I have taught in the district since 2007.  I imbed critical thinking, creative problem solving, communication, and collaboration in my teaching philosophy.  I strive to develop these in each of my students.  I feel blessed to serve such a phenomenal student body and community. 

I received a master’s degree in education in 2007 from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill.  Along with my Masters in Education, I hold a Gifted Education endorsement for elementary and middle school.  My endorsements in middle school include Language Arts, Business, Science, Math, and Social Science.    Prior to inspiring children, I worked 12 years in the business world as a computer programmer for five years and as an accountant for seven years. Since 2007, I have enjoyed every minute and every student I have come in contact with. Teaching is who I am. I want to inspire all students to explore knowledge and to become the best they can be. I believe learning should be fun and inspiring.  I truly love my job.

I also have a passion for ROBOTS and inspiring children in the STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).  For the past six years, I have mentored and coached young minds in the robotic world.  Each year our teams have competed regionally and at State.  They demonstrate not only their programming abilities but also their innovative creations and ability to problem solve.
