Ms. Jennifer Keto
Social Studies Department Chair and AP Seminar Teacher
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill., in Social Sciences/Secondary Education in 2004 and began teaching at Oswego High School that fall. I received my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill. I've known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in first grade because I loved helping others learn. I had wonderful history professors in college that seemed to know everything and who inspired me to want to teach history. I enjoy hands-on learning in the form of debates and simulations. Nothing is better than seeing students dressing up and becoming actual historical figures— personality and all. Right now I teach AP Seminar, which is a completely skills-based course that truly prepares students for college. Students learn about inquiry/questioning, evaluative topics from multiple perspectives, understanding and creating arguments, and teamwork. Students are able to discuss current issues in depth and research topics of their choosing.
