Hello Coyote Families! Last year, 2019-2020, our schoolwide theme was "Say Something." The theme originated from the book Say Something by Peter H. Reynolds. At Lakewood Creek, we want our students to use their words and actions to say something welcoming, respectful, caring, supportive, inspiring, creative and memorable. Throughout the year, we focused on the theme through classroom activities. We want our students to know that they have a VOICE and they should use it to make the world a better place.
For the upcoming year, we will be using another Peter H. Reynolds book, Be You!, for our theme. In this book, we learn that we are all born to be so many things: curious, adventurous, patient, brave, connected, kind, understanding, patient, persistent, different, ready, your own thinking, okay being alone, okay reaching out for help, but most of all, BE YOU!
Please join us this year in recognizing, appreciating, and celebrating our similarities and differences.
We regularly practice KINDNESS at Lakewood Creek, and our expectations are:
The building administrators at Lakewood Creek are Mrs. Kelley Budd, Principal, and Mr. Adam Lewickas, Assistant Principal.
The Lakewood Creek faculty and staff created a 7-word mission in 2016:
Be Confident, Expand Your Mind, Inspire Others!
We strive to be a community of diverse lifelong learners who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and values required for productive global citizenship.
Approaching challenges and problems with a growth mindset allows individuals to be able to develop any skill and talent; all children can learn.
Our diversity enhances student learning and life experiences; everyone is unique and important.
No obstacles can deter us from meeting goals; we are resilient.
