Mr. Aaron Henricks

I joined the faculty of Oswego High School in 2011. Since joining, I have taught a variety of courses, including Advanced Placement United States History, Honors Political Science, Military Topics, Political Science, and United States History. I currently am one of the advisors for Oswego High School's Youth & Government Delegation and I also serve as a member of Oswego High School's Robert McCormick Foundation Illinois Democracy School Initiative's Site Team, as well as the point of contact for the Oswego High School "Wall of Honor, which recognizes Oswego High School students who have chosen to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

I graduated from Illinois State University (Normal, IL) in December 2007, with a major in History Education and a minor in Business Administration. In May 2017, I earned my Masters of Arts in North American History from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ). I plan on completing my education with a Doctorate of Philosophy in History at some point. My key areas of interest are modern American military history and foreign policy, particularily World War II, the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, and the subsequent "Global War on Terror."

I was inspired to teach because of some incredible teachers throughout my own educational career. I seek every day to give my students the same sense of inspiration, dedication, and expertise that those teachers gave me. My ultimate goal is help create life-long learners ready for whatever comes their way in the future.
