I attended Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, where I received my bachelor’s degree in special education for kindergarten through 12th grade. I initially was hired at Plank Junior High in 2007, then I transferred to Oswego High School, where I have been teaching ever since. While teaching, I returned to school and received my master’s degree in educational leadership and administration (Type 75) from Benedictine University, Lisle, Ill., and I have taken numerous other classes to stay up to date on current research in education.
