Ms. Melissa Niedert
I began my career in education in 1982 as a junior high math and science teacher at Noe Middle School, in Louisville, Ky. I moved, as result of a job transfer, in 1985 to Illinois. I spent the next 10 years as a math and science teacher at Humphrey Middle School in Bolingbrook, Ill. I was lucky enough to join District 308 as a member of the Thompson Junior High School staff teaching math and science in 1995. I became a counselor after discussion with my former principal, Todd Colvin, and joined the student services staff at Oswego High School in 2002.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Louisville, a master’s degree in educational psychology from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and a counseling degree from Lewis University, in Romeoville, Ill.
