Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jamie Piper
Greetings! Thank you for visiting this page to learn more about me!
My name is Jamie Piper and I have been teaching at Oswego High School since the 2004-2005 school year. I teach every level of physics and have taught many other science courses including Chem/Phys and Astronomy. I studied to become a physics teacher at Northern Illinois University where I earned my BS, and then went on to earn a Ma.T.L from St. Xavier University and an M. Ed. from Benedictine University. I am passionate about showing students they are capable of more than they believe they are and I believe the subject area of physics is the perfect platform in which to do so. One of my favorite things to hear from a student is "Wow.....that's not as hard as I thought it would be!". That's when I know that student has overcome an obstacle and is starting to believe in themselves! I am also very involved in our athletic department. I coached boys and girls soccer here for about 10 years and now I serve as an Event Coordinator. It's so much fun to be able to see students performing and succeeding in an area other than the classroom. I am also a wife and mother to two amazing kiddos who do their best to keep me on my toes as much as possible.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue teaching at Oswego High School and I look forward to meeting all of my students every year!
