Ms. Stephanie San Roman
I am the director of bands at Oswego High School. I conduct the chamber winds, wind symphony, pit orchestra, assist with the concert band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, and pep band, and co-direct the marching band. I received my bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 2006 and a master’s in music education from Vandercook College of Music, Chicago, in 2010. I began my teaching career at Oswego High School as an associate director of bands in 2006 and became director of bands in 2009.
I have articles published in both the Illinois Music Educator and The Instrumentalist. Other publications include Score Study Fundamentals for the School Band Director. I was selected as a first runner up in the National Band Association Young Conductor Mentor Project in 2012 and acted as assistant band director at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Summer Youth Music Camp in 2013. Ensembles under my direction have performed at the regional and state level, and on the national stage at the National Concert Band Festival in 2015. My professional memberships include the National Association for Music Educators and the National Band Association.
