Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Shaunise Thomas
I have been teaching in School District 308 since 2007. I received my bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, Normal, where I was involved in a number of activities. I was a color-guard for the Big Red Marching Machine. I was also president of the Physical Education Teacher Education Club and vice president of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
I did my student teaching at Neuqua Valley High School and Beebe Elementary School, both in Naperville, Ill., and graduated in December 2004. I became a permanent substitute teacher in School District 204. In 2005, I became a physical education teacher at Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Ill., where I taught physical education and was assistant varsity basketball and track coach, and also co-sponsor of the Leo Club. I then went on to get a master’s degree in leadership and administration at Benedictine University, in Lisle, Ill., and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and technology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
I am excited to be a Panther and really enjoy the students and the staff. If you need anything please let me know, and I will do my best to try to help.
