Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kay Knutson

Math Teacher

I earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Elmhurst College, in Elmhurst, Ill., in 2004, where I became certified to teach mathematics in grades six through 12. After student teaching, I had the pleasure of teaching for one year at Wheaton Warrenville South High School, and then I joined the Oswego East High School (OEHS) faculty in 2005. During my time at OEHS, I have taught a variety of math courses, including algebra, geometry, honors algebra, pre-calculus, and college preparatory statistics. I have put a lot of time into continuing my education and earned a master’s degree in administration through Governors State University, University Park, in 2008, and a second master’s degree in technology leadership through Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., in 2012. In 2010, I created a chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, a national honor society for outstanding math students, and I have sponsored this club ever since.
