Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Tammy DiPrima
I began my undergraduate training at Michigan State University, East Lansing, and then transferred to Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, where I earned my bachelor’s degree with a major in English and a minor in communications. I earned my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction at North Central College, in Naperville, Ill. I completed additional graduate hours in English at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. In 2011, I earned national board certification.
I began my teaching career at Wheaton Warrenville South High School where I taught Junior English, sophomore English, and communication studies. After seven years at Wheaton Warrenville South, I “stayed home” with my children for seven years. During my “stay-at-home” years, I was a member of the adjunct faculty at Waubonsee Community College, Sugar Grove, Ill., and taught English 101 and other English courses. I also worked for the North Central College Education Department supervising pre-service teachers. I joined the staff at Oswego East High School in 2007 and have taught a variety of English courses.
I enjoy the passion and excellence that surrounds me at Oswego East High School. My colleagues and students inspire me every day. I love sharing the importance and joy of reading, writing, and communicating with my students and hope to foster the skills and develop the interests that will help take them anywhere they want to go!
