Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jill Egdorf
I began my career in education by earning a bachelor's degree in child development at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and later, a master's degree in teaching and learning from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill. I have had diverse experiences working with young children including teaching and helping hospitalized children at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, teaching in and directing a preschool, assisting students in a special education program, and teaching kindergarten, first, second, third and fifth grades. Most of my experience has been in the primary grades where I feel I can best apply my developmental background. Each year, I strive to provide a secure yet stimulating classroom in which learners feel safe to be risk takers and problem solvers. I believe this helps give them a positive start on their journey to becoming eager independent learners with strong self-confidence. This school year, I'm especially excited to teach first grade. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn fill me with joy.
